Misrepresentation of Age Charges in Washington, DC DISMISSED

Sean Farrelly secures DISMISSAL of Misrepresentation of Age to Enter ABC Establishment charges filed against Farrelly PC client.  Misrepresentation of Age charges are filed pursuant to D.C. Code Section 25-1002 (b) (2) and carry a maximum penalty of $300 in fines and a possible license suspension of 90 days.

Four Counts of Simple Assault in Washington, DC DISMISSED

Four counts of Simple Assault DISMISSED in DC Superior Court in exchange for a plea to one count of Destruction of Property, resulting in a NO JAIL sentence.  Simple Assault is charged under D.C. Code Section 22-404 and carries a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine for each count.  Destruction of Property is charged under D.C. Code Section 22-303 and also carries a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

Washington, DC Assault Charges DISMISSED

Sean Farrelly secures DISMISSAL for Farrelly PC client charged with two counts of Simple Assault in DC Superior Court.  Simple Assault is charged under D.C. Code Section 22-404 and carries a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine for each count.

Violation of Civil Protection Order Charges in Washington, DC DISMISSED

Washington DC Domestic Violence Attorney Sean Farrelly secures dismissal for client charged with violating a civil protection order pursuant to D.C. Code Section 16-1004(d), 1005(g).  The maximum penalty for this offense is 180 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

Washington, DC Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Charge REDUCED to Misdemeanor Simple Assault

A Farrelly PC client had his Washington, DC Superior Court charge of Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon charge reduced to Misdemeanor Simple Assault via plea agreement.  Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon is charged under DC Code Section 22-402 and carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail and/or a $25,000 fine.  Misdemeanor Simple Assault is charged under DC Code Section 22-404 and carries a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

Farrelly PC founder Sean J. Farrelly has been named by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in the area of Criminal Defense in Washington, D.C.

Less than three years after opening his practice, Farrelly PC founder Sean J. Farrelly has been named by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in the area of criminal defense in Washington, D.C.  Prior to forming Farrelly PC, Sean Farrelly served as an Assistant Attorney General in the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General.  As an Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Farrelly prosecuted various criminal offenses committed within the District.  Prior to his tenure as a prosecutor, Mr. Farrelly served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the District of Columbia Superior Court.

Farrelly PC Client Found NOT GUILTY of Criminal Contempt

Washington, DC Superior Court Judge finds Farrelly PC client NOT GUILTY of criminal contempt following 3 day bench trial.  The judge ruled that the government failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Farrelly PC client willfully or intentionally violated court orders and thus was not guilty of criminal contempt.  Criminal contempt is charged under D.C. Code Section 16-1005(f) and carries a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

Sean J. Farrelly Interviewed by 99.1 WNEW Regarding DUI and DC's New Marijuana Law

On February 27, 2015, Sean J. Farrelly was interviewed by Washington DC radio station 99.1 WNEW.  He spoke about the effect of the new DC Marijuana law on Driving Under the Influence cases in the District.  Mr. Farrelly has extensive experience in both prosecuting and defending Driving Under the Influence and marijuana related offenses.  Audio clips of the interview can be heard here.

Washington, DC Second Offense DUI/DWI Charges REDUCED

A Farrelly PC client facing Second Offense DUI/DWI charges with breath score enhancements enters plea to the reduced charges of DUI First Offense.  Had the government convicted the Farrelly PC client of the original charges the client faced maximum penalties of 1 year in jail and/or a $5,000 fine.  Further, the client faced a MANDATORY MINIMUM sentence of 25 days in jail.  Under the reduced conviction to DUI First Offense, client received zero days of jail and a period of unsupervised probation.
